Andrew is the Director General of Make UK Defence. He has been active in the defence and security sectors for some 30 years, working for FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, two agencies of the Ministry of Defence and 7 years as an independent consultant, including a spell in the Cabinet Office. Andrew holds a BA in Business and Marketing from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and an MSC in International Defence Marketing from Cranfield University / UK Defence Academy. As some readers will know, Make UK Defence is a national defence trade association deeply rooted in the world of mid-tiers and SMEs. It is the only UK Defence trade association to cap its subscriptions with the big prime contractors and it receives no Government funding. This enables Make UK Defence to be a truly independent voice in the UK, speaking truth to power with industry and Government alike. Make UK Defence is the lead trade association supporting the SME Working Group in the UK MOD’s Defence Suppliers Forum.
